Last Post -- Thankyou!

My long absence from the blogosphere you have probably guessed that this blog is prematurely to be discontinued.

Allow me to explain. I am still discerning; I began this 'journal', if you will, because I had no-one I felt I could talk to about my vocation and discernment of it (and may I say at this point, should anybody ever stumble upon this post, it is imperative to talk about your discernment -- preferably with a spiritual director, but if not just talk .. to someone). So I put my thoughts in blog-posts and you answered some of my questions. I couldn't be more grateful -- from what I have seen so far, the initial question is the hardest part of the discernment process.

However I have now moved forward in my discernment; you -- by your kind encouragements and advice -- helped over the first hurdle, but now I must go it alone. That might sound a little melodramatic, but what I mean is, I now have a spiritual director and am in correspondence with the prior of the Carmelite community I hope to join.

(Sorry for any cheesiness) but can I once again, thank everybody who has read these posts -- I didn't expect anyone to -- thanks to those who commented, or even prayed! I assure you, it wasn't in vain!

Its been so long since my regular posts here, I can hardly expect anyone to read this; but I didn't want to leave it without expressing my apreciation which is so great words can't decribe, so I'll sign off with one final quotation:

Prayer is a cry of gratitude and love, in the midst of trial as well as in joy. - St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face

God Bless you in your discernment, and I will pray that it is successful.

I am a Poor Clare aspirant, soon to enter the cloister, and I have also begun a "blogging journal"... but for the benefit of others seeking their vocations. St. Therese is my patron saint, and I care deeply for anyone who is considering the Carmelite Order.

Like you, I know the worth of discussing a religious vocation... and I've spent the last several years "listening" to others in their discernment. I hope that you always have someone to listen, and that your vocation blossoms into the fulfilling calling God has given to you.

Thankyou Sadie, may God bless you too. All the best for the Poor Clares.

(I just re-read my post ... cheese ... also parts of it didn't make sense. Sorry about that.)

I thought it was a great post, and when I write my goodbye post I hope it is just as good!

Someone deleted a variety of links from letitbit and megaupload ...

From now, we will use www.tinyurlalternative.com as our default url shortener, so every link will be there and visible for everyone.

You can choose from several great short url names like:

kfc.ms easysharelink.info jumpme.info megauploadlink.info megavideolink.info mygamelink.info myrapidsharelink.info mytorrentlink.info myurlshortener.com mywarezlink.info urlredirect.info urlshrinker.info weblinkshortener.com youtubelink.info and many others.

They maintain above 60 other ready domains and the url shortener service work properly for free without any registration needed.

So we think it is good idea and suggest you to use url redirect service too!

It isn't hard at all to start making money online in the underground world of blackhat cpa, It's not a big surprise if you haven’t heard of it before. Blackhat marketing uses little-known or misunderstood methods to build an income online.

I'd like you to take a look at this great orthodox and traditional Irish Catholic blog. They've just posted about a retreat to a Cistercian monastery. looks like something you could tell your readers about and maybe link to or blogroll...

I loved your St. Therese quote! She is my patron saint and I have read her biography "The Story of A Soul" so many times I've lost count.

I too am discerning - on a serious level - a religious vocation. Please know that you are in my prayers!

As one discerner to another; I'd like to say a little bit about Our Lord and silence if it is all right... I am an organist - not a great one but still - naturally I spend a great deal of time in church alone... so, being alone with God has had a tremendous impact in that I do not have to look very far at all for Him... we never do, but in the beauty of a church - a house of God - He is everywhere. And very frequently when I'm not playing the organ - which I do for hours on end - I simply stop... go find the center of the choir loft, and listen to and for Our Dear Lord. Just Listen... And you know, through that I have come to know and love Him even more whcih I did not think was possible...

God bless you always!

Elizabeth

Nick,

If you wouldn't mind, sometime in the autumn before you head back up to York, I'd be interested in meeting you and talking about whatever part of your discernment process you'd feel comfortable sharing. I'll happily buy you a drink or a meal. I'm from the U.S., but I study at Oxford, and will be back in town 1 Sept.

I'm a new Catholic (this year), and therefore am not doing heavy vocation discernment for a couple years while I allow myself to settle into Catholic practice, but I feel a very strong call toward some form of religious or consecrated life. However, like you, I have impediments to Holy Orders. I'm receiving regular spiritual direction from one of the Jesuits at the University Chaplaincy, and helping out with their daily Masses when I'm in Oxford. I love both the Jesuits and the Dominicans, but there are aspects of the monastic and eremitic lives that attract me as well. I'd be very interested to meet you if you'd be willing.

My email is ccematson AT gmail DOT com.

Blessings on you.

Cole
